2008 has been a good year for Chicago man Neil Kazaross who was announced the player of the year by the American Backgammon Tour, championed the ABT Michigan Summer Championship and was chosen number 5 of the 2007 Giants of Backgammon. The ABT points were compiled in the 14 backgammon tournaments held this year until September 1st, 2008. Five more ABT events are scheduled for the rest of the year and can't still change the current top 3 ABT players include the Illinois State Backgammon Championship scheduled to October 10-12, 2008 with 3 divisions in the main event, lectures by Larry Liebster and special events such as the “Kill Phil” Tournament and the Lincoln-Douglas Doubles and the highly anticipated Las Vegas Open, which will take place at the Riviera Hotel & Casino and will feature dozens of backgammon tournaments and side events.
