Navigation On this page, if you click on agame under the game header, you will go to the beginning of that game. If you click on a game under the moves header, you will see the list ofmoves for that game. You can then click on a move, and you will go tothat move. This can be helpful if you leave in the middle of a game andwish to return where you left. When you are at a position in a game, you will see the board diagram onthe upper left. On the upper right, there will be a list of candidatemoves (assuming the play isn't forced or trivial). By moving the mousecursor over these moves, you will see the board change to reflect what theposition will look like if you choose that play. The comment at thebottom will also change, indicating a brief description of the pros andcons of that choice. If you prefer, you can click on one of the moves, and you will get a full screen picture of that move. Also if you click onthe "display moves", you get pictures of all the moves at once so you cancompare them. To return from these pages, click on "original" to get backto where you were, or click on "equities" to see which move was made andthe equities of the candidates. To get to the result of the play from themain move page, click on "next". The followup page will have the move made, and the cubeless equities ofthe variouscandidates. These equities are from Snowie 3-ply rollouts no truncation,144 trials (supertiny, 20%) with variance reduction. The variancereduction makes the rollouts equivalent to about 2000 or 3000 trials withno variance reduction, which is a large enough sample so that the resultsare not likely to be too far off due to a luck factor. The play at 3-plyis Snowie at its very best, which will be satisfactory for most positions. The supertiny setting was necessary due to time considerations. Thismeans that Snowie will only look at a limited number of candidates, whichoccasionally will cause it to miss the best move. However, for mostpositions this will not affect the rollout results significantly. Thebottom line is that we can tend to believe these rollout results. The move actually made will be in red, and the new boarddiagram will represent the position after the move has been made. Onceagain, you can look and see what the other candidates would have lookedlike by clicking on the move. To go on to the next move, click on next.
