return to indexI have found that annotating a full match every month simply takes toomuch of my time. Not only does this prevent me from doing other stuff forGammOnLine, but the quality of my analyses goes down when force to lookat too many moves in a short time.
Instead of doing a full match each month, I am going to make a very detailedanalysis of a single match over the course of several months. The firstmatch I have chosen for this is the semi-finals doubles match in thePro-Am tournament between Nack Ballard/Harvey Huie and Ken Arnold/Kit Woolsey. This was a well-played match, and since I participated in it and discussedmany of the moves with Ken my thinking about the moves is fresh in mymind. In addition, I have run a full Snowie rollout of ALL of the movesin the match with a 3-ply rollout (not just evaluation) -- this took abouttwo weeks to run. The results of these rollouts will be posted alongwith my commentary. The commentary will be very thorough, usually withseveral paragraphs on any play of interest.
I plan to work on this very slowly, maybe one or two games a month. This way I will not feel rushed, and the reader will get the most valuefrom my analysis. I will add each new game when it is finished, andlet the readers know with a note on the main member's page. There willbe a link to this match both from the main member's page and fromeach issue of the magazine.
